Active Marlborough Coronavirus Cases Drop To New Low
Marlborough had the lowest number of active coronavirus since April 24 on Sunday, according to health officials.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — The number of active coronavirus cases in Marlborough has dropped for each of the last seven days, and hit the lowest point since late April on Sunday, according to health officials.
Marlborough has seen 931 total cases since the pandemic hit the area. But subtracting the city's 41 deaths and 714 people who have recovered from the virus, the number of active cases stood at 176 on Sunday.
Active cases have not been that low in Marlborough since April 24. Active cases peaked on May 10 at 285, according to health data. Active cases have dropped every day since May 24 when there were 281 active cases.

The drop in active cases follows a larger trend in Massachusetts. The seven-day positive test rate in the state was down to 7.1 percent as of Saturday. Marlborough's positive test rate was at 22 percent as of May 27, which was the last day state health officials released data for individual communities.

The number of coronavirus hospitalizations across the state dropped to 1,906 on Saturday, the lowest number dating back to around April 8.
