All Assabet Valley Health Tech Students Pass Nurse Assist. Exam

All 23 students in the school's Health Tech program passed the Certified Nursing Assistant exam.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Students in Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School's Health Technology Program celebrated a big accomplishment — every one of them passed their Certified Nursing Assistant exam. The 23 juniors were honored at a recent pinning ceremony.

The students will go into their senior year with the option to go out and work in the school's Cooperative program or receive an additional certification in Medical Assisting which would be provided in the shop setting. Students are paid for their work in the co-op programs based on the particular shop they're working in and the skills of the student.

Passing the exam is a crucial step for students who desire careers in the nursing assistant field. After graduating the Health Technology program at Assabet, students are ready to enter college in one of the many medical fields, and are in high demand for immediate employment in many health fields.

Student Dante Urato told WMCT news he plans on putting the knowledge he gained in Assabet to use and hopes to attend UMass Amherst and eventually medical school.
