MARLBOROUGH, MA — Drivers in Marlborough are continuing to see higher prices at the pump as gasoline costs rise across Massachusetts and nationwide.
The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Massachusetts was $4.46 on Monday, according to AAA. That is slightly below the current national average of $4.50 per gallon, according to the latest EIA data.
In Marlborough, the average price for regular gasoline was approximately $4.49 per gallon on Tuesday, placing local prices just above the statewide average and near the national average.
Massachusetts gas prices have continued trending upward in recent weeks amid broader increases in oil and fuel costs nationwide.
The current Massachusetts average is about 9 cents higher than one week ago, about 24 cents higher than one month ago, and about $1.50 higher than one year ago, according to AAA and Boston 25 News.
The U.S. average price for regular gasoline currently stands at $4.50 per gallon, according to the latest federal data from the EIA.
Marlborough drivers are paying slightly more than the Massachusetts average and significantly more than drivers were paying at this time last year.
