MARLBOROUGH, MA — Young basketball players in Marlborough will get a chance to spend part of their summer running drills, taking shots and learning the game with a Celtics-backed youth program.
Jr. Celtics Academy will bring a youth basketball summer camp to Marlborough this July. The co-ed camp, presented by New Balance, is open to youth ages 7 to 14 and will be held at New England Innovation Academy, 280 Locke Drive.
The camp is open to players of all skill levels and will offer two weeklong sessions: July 13 to 17 and July 20 to 24. Both sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Participants will take part in high-energy on-court games, drills, healthy competition and other basketball activities. Organizers said the camp is designed to give young athletes a chance to build skills while learning in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.
Jr. Celtics Academy is the official youth basketball platform of the Boston Celtics. The program works with young players across New England and aims to help shape, improve and guide the youth basketball landscape, according to the Celtics.
The Marlborough camp is part of that regional youth sports effort, bringing a Celtics basketball experience to local players during the summer break.
The camp will be held at New England Innovation Academy, a private school campus located off Locke Drive in Marlborough.
