Marlborough Welcomes Newest Police Officer

MARLBOROUGH, MA — The Marlborough Police Department has added a new officer to its patrol division.

Officer Owen O'Brien was sworn in Tuesday at the Marlborough Police Department, where City Clerk Steven Kerrigan administered the oath of office as family members and colleagues looked on. Mayor J. Christian Dumais and Police Chief David Giorgi also attended the ceremony, according to the department.

O'Brien comes to Marlborough with four years of law enforcement experience. He previously served as a field training officer and as a detective for the Southborough Police Department.

He will now begin an abbreviated field training program with Marlborough police before working on patrol on his own, according to the department.
