MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Marlborough police K-9 has new emergency medical equipment after a donation from a nonprofit that supports law enforcement dogs.
Two-year-old K-9 Enzo received a medical bag with lifesaving equipment Thursday from Protection4Paws, the Marlborough Police Department said. The nonprofit supplies lifesaving equipment to K-9 teams nationwide, according to Protection4Paws.
Enzo is partnered with Patrol Officer Kevin Martins. The duo has been involved in Marlborough Police's K-9 program since April 2025, when Lt. Ken McKenzie and his K-9, Kaiser, passed the reins.
Protection4Paws provides K-9 medical kits designed to help handlers respond to emergencies involving police dogs. Similar kits include supplies for time-sensitive emergencies or hostile situations and are valued at about $400.
"They are a nonprofit organization committed to supplying vital equipment to active law enforcement K-9 teams across the nation," the Marlborough Police Department wrote in a Thursday announcement. "Just wanted to thank Protection4Paws for their contribution!"
