MARLBOROUGH, MA — Two people were killed in a serious, multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 290 East in Marlborough on Monday afternoon, a spokesperson for Massachusetts State Police confirmed to Patch.
Troopers assigned to the Holden Barracks, along with crews from the Marlborough Fire Department and EMS, responded to the crash. The eastbound roadway was shut down to allow first responders to access the scene and assist those involved, state police said.
Authorities confirmed that two people involved in the crash suffered fatal injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the crash, including the identities of those killed, were not immediately released.
