Marlborough Aquatic Facilities To Close For Summer Season: Here's When

Pools, splash pads and more facilities will begin closing for the season as the city's summer recreation schedule winds down.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Some aquatic facilities will begin closing for the season later this month as the city's summer recreation schedule winds down.

Marlborough's wading pools will close Aug. 23, followed by the city's splash pads, boat launch and public beach in early September. Residents still have several weeks to visit the facilities before they close.

The Ward and Farrell wading pools will close Sunday, Aug. 23, while the city's splash pads, Hixson Boat Launch and World War II Memorial Beach will end their seasons in early September.

The Hixson Boat Launch on Reservoir Street will be closed Thursday, Sept. 3 and Friday, Sept. 4. Its final day of the season will be Sunday, Sept. 6.

The splash pads at Stevens Park and Ghiloni Park will also close for the season after Sunday, Sept. 6.

World War II Memorial Beach on Hosmer Street will be closed from Monday, Aug. 31 through Friday, Sept. 4. The beach will reopen Saturday, Sept. 5 and Sunday, Sept. 6 before closing for the season. It will not be open on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7.

City recreation officials thanked residents as well as aquatic and recreation employees for their participation and work throughout the 2026 season.
