MARLBOROUGH, MA — A multi-agency drug investigation in Marlborough led to the arrest of a Clinton man and the seizure of nearly a kilogram of cocaine, according to police.

The investigation involved the Clinton Drug Unit, DEA Worcester High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force, Marlborough Detective Unit and North Worcester County Drug Task Force.

Investigators identified Cuellar as a Clinton-based cocaine supplier operating in Central Massachusetts, MetroWest and communities targeted by the North Worcester County task force, police said.

Detectives also executed a search warrant issued by Marlborough District Court at an apartment at 339 Boston Post Road East. Police described the apartment as a location used to store drugs.

Investigators seized 917 grams of cocaine, 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 16 clonidine pills, scales, packaging materials and $4,813 believed to be proceeds from drug sales, according to police. Police estimated the cocaine's street value at more than $91,700.

Cuellar was previously convicted in Middlesex Superior Court of trafficking cocaine and illegally possessing firearms or ammunition, police said. He received a five-to-seven-year prison sentence in 2019 and was on parole with an expected release date of March 30, 2027, according to police.

"It was another great example of drug dealers not having jurisdictional boundaries and Law enforcement's drug units committed response to stopping these dangerous drugs from entering our communities," Detective First Sgt. Miguel A. Martinez said. "We are very grateful for our relationships with our Local, State, and Federal authorities who working together made this another successful investigation."
