Bank Employees Donate to Marlborough K9 Unit

The money will help train Kaiser, Marlborough PD's K9 officer.

He’s got to go in and sniff around for drugs, helping police catch the “bad guys.” He’s an officer and a dog. And he needs training.

Employees from Marlborough Savings Bank decided to donate funds to the Marlborough Police Department’s K9 unit to do just that.

Donations of $850 will go toward training K-9 Officer Kaiser, partner to Officer McKenzie. These funds will contribute to covering tactical training put on by Greene County Sherriff Office, including costs of the course, food, travel, and board.

“The recent gracious donation of $850 from the Marlborough Savings Bank will allow Officer Kenneth McKenzie and K-9 Kaiser to attend an upcoming Police K-9 Street Tactics seminar being held in Cairo, New York,” said Chief Mark Leonard in a statement. “Officer McKenzie and Kaiser are constantly training together, and seminars such as this one allow them to become more proficient and effective by introducing new techniques and reinforcing skills already learned. Marlborough Savings Bank has always been a great community partner with the Marlborough Police Department, and we are grateful for their continued support.”
