Bomb Threat at Marlborough High School; Nothing Found

Classes resumed after Marlborough High School was evacuated due to a bomb threat.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Students were evacuated from Marlborough High School, one of ten local schools to receive a bomb threat Monday via robocall, according to officials. The school was evacuated, with police and fire responding to search the school.

Nothing was found, and classes resumed.

The call occurred about 8 a.m., said officials.

Marlborough schools sent out a message to parents: "Early this morning the high school main office received a robo-call bomb threat. Although the threat did not appear to be credible, police and fire officials were contacted and responded in accordance with district safety protocol. The determination was then made, in concert with police, to evacuate students and staff while the building was searched. No suspicious packages were found, and within 10 minutes students returned to class. Students and staff are to be commended for their patience and cooperation during this incident

"MHS is safe, and students are back in class," said Beth Wagner, communications liaison.

Marlborough is one of several schools responding to bomb threats around the state today.

Police have also confirmed threats in high schools in Cambridge, Brookline, Ayer, Hudson and Leominster, while multiple people reported threats in Stoneham, Tewksbury, Lexington, Hopkinton, Newton, and Wakefield.
