Marlborough to host NE World Martial Arts Championships June 3-4
A competitive event of the North American Sport Karate Association (NASKA ) the 2011 New England Open will feature forms, weapons, and point sparring divisions.

Marlborough will be the venue of the 2011 New England Open World Martial Arts Championships next week as the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel & Trade Center hosts the event June 3-4. The competition will begin on Friday, June 3rd, continuing the following morning through the evening finals competition on Saturday, June 4.
A competitive event of the North American Sport Karate Association (NASKA ) the 2011 New England Open will feature forms, weapons, and point sparring divisions. In addition, the New England Open will also feature continuous sparring, hybrid fighting divisions, and WAKO-style (World Amateur Kickboxing Organizations) sparring.
One of the highlights of the competition is the Professional Youth Divisions, in which youth under 18 years of age compete for cash prizes in one of four divisions: 13 and under weapons; 13 and under forms; 14-17 weapons; 14-17 forms. Cash prizes of $300 for each 1st place, $100 for each 2nd place, and $50 for each 3rd place will be awarded.
