Bridal Shop Donates Gowns to Rainbow Girls
The Special Event Bridal Shoppe in Marlborough donates 10 beautiful gowns to the Concord Rainbow Girls

The Special Event Bridal Shoppe in Marlborough donated 10 beautiful formal gowns to the Concord Rainbow Girls on Saturday. Michelle Berio, co-owner of the shop with Nilza White, said that they love donating gowns to good causes. Berio was looking for somewhere to donate gowns this year when she met Erica Bowe, Worthy Associate Advisor of Concord Assembly No. 53, a local chapter of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. Bowe was shopping for gowns at The Special Event Bridal Shoppe at the the Solomon Pond Mall. When she met Berio, Bowe explained that teenage girls who are members of the organization wear white gowns to their meetings and ceremonies. The gowns are a tradition going back to the organization's founding in 1922. The gowns help the girls develop confidence and poise and make their ceremonies feel special. However, affordable white gowns can be expensive and hard to find. Berio said that she was very impressed with Bowe's confidence and how well she described the organization, and she was inspired to help. The donated gowns will be available to the members of the Assembly to wear at their meetings.
