Marlborough’s Grand Parade & Muster

City to Host Landmark Community Celebration Honoring America’s 250th Anniversary

MARLBOROUGH, MA — June 2026 — On Saturday, June 27, 2026, the City of Marlborough and the Marlborough Revolution 250 Committee invite the entire community — and visitors from across the region — to take part in Celebrate 250: Marlborough’s Grand Parade & Muster, a landmark celebration commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence, right here on the streets where history was lived.

The event begins at 4:00 PM with a grand parade stepping off from Main Street and Bolton Street, winding through the heart of the city and concluding at Ward Park, where the Muster opens at 5:30 PM. Admission is free. Parking is available at no charge at designated lots including the Parking Garage Behind City Hall and the Newton Street Parking Garage, with shuttle service provided from parking areas to the event.

‘From the Shot Heard ‘Round the World to the Streets of Marlborough — the Story of American Freedom Is Our Story. Come Be Part of It.’

A Day Packed with Living History and Celebration

This is not just a parade — it is a full-day immersion in the spirit of 1776, set against the backdrop of Marlborough’s own proud Revolutionary War heritage. Highlights of the event include:

  • Grand Parade — Parade floats, vintage cars, fife & drum corps, color guard units, and community organizations marching through the heart of Marlborough.
  • Live Musket Drills & Must-See Live Skirmish — A dramatic re-enactment pitting the Lexington Militia against British Red Coats in a battle that will transport spectators back to 1775.
  • Cannon Firing Grand Finale! — A dramatic live artillery demonstration closing out the night with a bang.
  • Fife & Drum Music — Authentic 18th-century military music performed by period musicians throughout the event.
  • The Williams Tavern Tent — Named for Old William’s Tavern, built 1665, this festive tent will offer beer, wine, and more in the spirit of colonial Marlborough.
  • Music & Entertainment — Spectacular live music throughout the night, from parade to muster.
  • Food & Family Fun — Local restaurants, food trucks, and vendors at Ward Park. Kids’ activities for all ages. A true family celebration.
  • Marlborough Revolution 250 Merchandise — Commemorative merchandise available exclusively through the Marlborough Historical Society.
