CaRMaH Cat of the Week, Smith!

CaRMaH is your Hudson-Marlborough area resource for adopting a great cat into your home and family

I’m Smith, a tuxedo cat with a secret. I’ll tell you my secret in a minute. I will tell you that I really enjoy having my ears scratched, and I cannot get enough belly scrubs. My secret is I was supposed to be a barn cat – I was an older feral kitten, and would not tame up, so I joined a couple of buddies outside. But, my caregiver realized I was just not smart enough to be a barn kitty. I’d sit in the road sunning myself, or chase my buddies across the road in front of cars. So, she brought us in. Slowly, I allowed her to tame me – offering me treats, slowly luring me on the couch. Oh, but what joy I felt when she pet me and scratched my ears and rubbed my belly – such bliss! I am still quite skittish, and easily run off. However, with just a shake of the treat bag, I’ll come on up for attention. I need a home that will be patient and persistent, probably not with very noisy people. I love other cats – I glue myself to their side in joy. I would love to be adopted with another kitty.
I am about a year old, and in fabulous health.

All our cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, tested for FeLV/FIV, microchipped, treated for parasites and checked by a vet before adoption. To apply please go to http://www.carmah.org/info/adoption. Questions can be sent to: adoptacat@carmah.org

OUR KITTEN POLICY: Kittens under the age of 6 months need other cats for social development and fewer behavioral problems - and they keep each other company when people aren't around. So, we adopt out kittens in pairs, or with their charming momcats, or into home already having a young or active cat.
