Director of Student Services Named For Marlborough Public Schools

MARLBOROUGH, MA—After a thorough search, the Marlborough School Committee has appointed Jody O’Brien as the Director of Student Services of the Marlborough Public Schools.

Recommended by Superintendent Maureen Greulich, O’Brien is a highly qualified educator and administrator with more than 22 years of experience in the field of special education, said the announcement. The majority of her professional career has been with the Dudley-Charlton Regional School District with the past 10 years as a district level Administrator of Special Needs. She has a proficient knowledge of special education law and experience serving a large school district comprised of seven schools.

“The Director of Student Services is an integral part of the leadership team and has a crucial role in insuring that all students’ needs are met under the law,” stated Michelle Bodin-Hettinger, a member of Marlborough’s School Committee who served on the interview committee for the Director of Student Services, in a statement. “Jody has a tireless work ethic and a proven track record as a team player. We are thrilled to welcome Jody to the MPS team!”

Echoing Bodin-Hettinger’s praise, Superintendent Greulich stated, “Jody comes with a strong background in Special Education as well as a clear understanding of the needs of general education students. Her 22-years in the same school district (Dudley-Charlton) speaks volume about her level of commitment.”
