GE's building a life sciences base in Marlborough has already hired 100, and plans for more.

GE Healthcare, which is building a US life sciences base in Marlborough, has already hired 100 employees, and plans to expand to 500.
The company is expanding a former site off I-495, with a plan of ramping up to the 500 in about three years, reported the Boston Globe.
GE Healthcare provides transformational medical technologies, with a focus on information technologies, monitoring systems, diagnostics, drug discovery, biopharmaceutical manufacturing technology, performance solutions and performance improvement. .

The life science business sells diagnostic tools, bioreactors and “other gear used in biotech drug manufacturing.” GE Healthcare Life Sciences leader Eric Roman told the Globe that “we’re being very proactive,” in talking about the push for hiring. The first employees should begin moving in to the Marlborough location this summer.
