Why Go: Wine tasting with a donation to benefit the French Hill Neighborhood Association.

2. 3rd Annual Taste of Ashland Food and Wine Pairing
Where/When:
Ashland Fish and Game, 3 Ponderosa Rd., Ashland. Saturday Feb. 12, from 3-6 p.m.
Why Go: Join co-hosts Senator Karen Spilka, Representative Tom Sannicandro, Congressman Jim McGovern, regional elected officials and friends and neighbors for delicious food, wine and inspiring conversation.

  3. 7th Annual Chocolate Spectacular
Where/When:
Whitney Place, 238 West Main St., Northborough. Saturday Feb. 12, from 4-6 p.m.
Why Go: Hosted by Friends of the Northborough Senior Center. Wine, all-you-can-eat chocolate treats from local restaurants, bakeries and candy shops. Ten local restaurants have donated gift cards for silent auction bidding. Several grocery and retail stores, plus specialty services, have also donated certificates and gift baskets for the auction. Snow date Sunday, Feb. 13.
Pricing: $20. Tickets available at the senior center or at the door.

 4. Playing Dead
Where/When:
Dante's at Firefly's, 350 East Main St., Marlborough. Saturday Feb. 12, at 9:30 p.m.
Why Go: Deadhead alert! This band will bring you back to your Dead Daze.
Pricing: $8 at the door. Weekend shows sell out fast so reservations are suggested.

 5. Blues Jam
Where/When: Stone's Meeting House, 179 Main St., Ashland. Sunday, Feb. 13, at 8 p.m.
Why Go: Meet Pete Henderson & Co. Hang out with the band and listen to some of the best blue's music in the Metrowest!
Pricing: Free, no cover charge. Drink and food menu available.
