It's National Puppy Day: Call for Photos

Photo: Abby is a 4 1/2 month Golden Doodle. She was a surprise Christmas gift for Merle Dence’s grandchildren, Hannah and Bennett Dence. “ I am the Grampy caretaker of Abby,” said Dence. “She certainly fills my retirement days with joy.”

At Patch, we love puppies every day, but especially today – National Puppy Day.

The observance got its start in 2006 to celebrate not only the “magic and unconditional love” that puppies offer, but also to spread awareness about puppy mills, according to founder Colleen Paige, an author and celebrity pet and home lifestyle expert.
