HUDSON, MA — If you've driven by the Highland Commons shopping center in Hudson recently, you probably already know: an L.L.Bean store will open there at some point there.

A sign was posted outside the Route 62 plaza in recent weeks advertising the opening, and a company spokesman confirmed the new location on Friday afternoon.

"We cannot confirm an opening date, but we can now confirm that we will be opening a retail store at the Highland Commons. We’ll have a more formal announcement once those details are settled," L.L.Bean public affairs manager Jason Sulham said Friday.

Highland Commons is similar to the Shoppes at Blackstone Valley, where L.L.Bean opened its first store in the Worcester area in October. The Hudson shopping center is home to another rare outdoor store, Cabela's, plus shopping center staples like TJ Maxx, Lowe's and a BJ's.

L.L. Bean has six other stores in Massachusetts in Boston, Burlington, Dedham, Hadley, Mansfield, Mashpee and an outlet store in Wareham.
