Large Police Response After Ashland Hit-And-Run, 3 Arrested
The final suspect only surrendered after a Marlborough police K9 arrived at the scene, according to Ashland police.
ASHLAND, MA — Police from Marlborough, Framingham, and Holliston responded to Ashland on Thursday afternoon after several juveniles ran from the scene of two hit-and-run crashes.
The incident began just before 1 p.m. after a crash near Waverly and Union streets, which is just south of Ashland High School. Ashland police didn't find anyone in the crashed vehicle, but a witness told officers that the driver fled in another car.
Ashland police located the fleeing vehicle a short distance when it crash near the Framingham city line. Three people ran from the scene, and that's when Marlborough police were called to bring a K9 dog to help with the search.

Two of the suspects were caught in a neighborhood behind the Ashland Market Basket. A short time later in the same neighborhood, a local resident called police to report a person in her backyard. Police found the third suspect in a wetland area, but he refused to come out.
But when the Marlborough K9 arrived, the suspect surrendered, Ashland police said. All three were arrested.

Police believe both vehicles involved in the crashes were stolen.
