Longtime Marlborough Police Chief to Retire in Spring

Chief Mark Leonard announced his plans to retire from the department.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Police Chief Mark Leonard, with the Marlborough Police Department for 31 years and its chief for more than 15, will retire from the department in the spring.

The lifetime resident joined the Marlborough police as a reserve officer in 1985, and was permanently hired in 1986, reports the MetroWest Daily News. He was promoted to chief in March of 2001.
