Man Facing Charges After Leaving Scene Of Accident
A Marlborough man is facing multiple charges after leaving the scene of an accident and yelling racial slurs at the woman he hit.

A Marlborough man faces a slew of charges after he left the scene of a car accident, yelling racial slurs at the woman whose car he hit, police said. The man led police on a short chase before he was stopped and charged.
The accident happened Wednesday night when the suspect hit the bumper of another car stopped at the drive-thru ATM of the DCU Federal Credit Union on East Main Street, police said. The driver of the other car was not injured. The suspect, who police have identified as 48-year-old James Hooper, tried to assure the woman there was no damage to her car. But when she pulled into a parking space to take another look at her bumper, Hooper began yelling profanities and racial slurs at her, police said. Once the victim called police, Hooper drove off.
Officers spotted Hooper's car on their way to the scene and ordered him to pull over. But police said Hooper speeded up, leading them on a chase down Briarwood Lane. The chase finally ended when a car pulled out in front of Hooper and blocked him from passing.
