Marlborough Celebrates 4 Police Promotions
Ronald Ney, Scott Deciero, Kyle Skagerlind and David Tinglof are rising through the ranks.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Four police officers in Marlborough are rising through the ranks, the police department announced on Wednesday.
Ronald Ney and Scott Deciero were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, while Kyle Skagerlind and David Tinglof were promoted to the rank of Sergeant. The city honored the four men with a swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday morning.
Lt. Ney has served the Marlborough Police Department for 37 years and has worked as a sergeant for the past 19 years. The department said over his tenure, he has supervised in patrol, investigations and traffic or community policing.

Similarly, Lt. Deciero has been a full-time Marlborough police officer since 2001. He has led the Marlborough Police Department's Investigations Unit as a sergeant for the past four years, which has built on his extensive investigative background.
Before coming to Marlborough, he served as a police officer with the Berlin Police Department.

Sgt. Skagerland has served the Marlborough Police Department for over seven years and has worked all three patrol shifts. In addition to his time patrolling, he has served as a Field Training Officer, helping to mentor and develop a new generation of officers.
Lastly, Sgt. Tinglof has served the Marlborough Police Department for seven years and brings more than 20 years of prior law enforcement experience from another agency. He has served as a Field Training Officer, as well as a Municipal Police Training Committee Defensive Tactics Instructor throughout the state.
"Please join us in congratulating these four officers on their well-earned promotions," the Marlborough Police Department wrote in a news release. "We look forward to their continued leadership and service to the City of Marlborough for many years to come."
The city said all four officers started their new assignments on Wednesday.
