Marlborough Closes Parks Facilities Due To Coronavirus

Parks in Marlborough will remain open, but many other facilities will be off-limits.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Outdoor recreation is one of the few activities you can still do while maintaining social distance, but Marlborough has closed many park facilities due to the new coronavirus.

Parks in the city are still open for passive recreation like walking. But playgrounds, exercise equipment, and tennis and basketball courts are closed. The skate park at Ward Park is also closed.

Many other local towns and cities have made similar decisions. On Monday, the Trustees of Reservations and Mass Audubon closed dozens of trails and wildlife areas, but state parks remain open across Massachusetts for walking and hiking.
