MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough Democrats will gather this weekend at Kane Elementary School to choose delegates for the upcoming state Democratic convention.

Marlborough will send 19 delegates and 17 alternates to the state convention, which is set for June 4 at the DCU Center in Worcester. At the convention, delegates from communities across the state will endorse candidates for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, solicitor and secretary of the commonwealth.

"We have some very exciting races during this election cycle, including for governor," Marlborough Democratic City Committee Chair Dan Caruso said in a news release. "We encourage all Marlborough Democrats to participate, in person if you can."

Local Democrats who do not get selected as either an alternate or regular delegate can apply to be an add-on delegate via the state party by April 9. Locals interested in getting involved with the Democratic City Committee can contact Membership Chair Barbara Allen barbarapallen@comcast.net, visit www.marlboroughdcc.org or head to the Facebook page.
