Marlborough Fire Department Celebrates 6 Promotions
A group of firefighters in the city was recognized this week for their contributions to the community.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — The Marlborough Fire Department recognized six members Thursday during a promotional ceremony.
The ceremony on Thursday celebrated promotions within the department and was officiated by Fire Chief Jeffrey Gogan. Father Gabriel of IC Parish gave the invocation and City Clerk Steven Kerrigan delivered the oath of office to each promoted member, according to the Marlborough Fire Department.
The members recognized were Assistant Fire Chief Michael Peckham, Battalion Chief Jonathan Ayotte, Capt. Michael Cisek, Lt. Richard Duong, Lt. Matthew Vickery and Provisional Lt. Colin Richardson.

The department congratulated the members on the milestone.
This comes just one day after the Marlborough Fire Department announced two longtime firefighters would retire after more than 25 years of service to the city.

Lt. Jeffrey Kasaras retired on July 10 after more than 25 years with the department, including more than 20 years as a lieutenant, and Firefighter Shawn Butland retired on July 20.
