Marlborough Food Drive Will Benefit Ukraine, Community Cupboard
The fundraiser is part of the Marlborough Democratic City Committee's quarterly series of drives.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A fundraiser this weekend in Marlborough will benefit the Community Cupboard and children in Ukraine.
The Saturday event will collect food and personal items and is part of series of drives the Marlborough Democratic City Committee holds each quarter. Since the MDCC's last drive in January, war broke out when Russia invaded Ukraine in February.
“We thought our quarterly drive to help area residents would be a good time to collect funds to help the children of Ukraine through this terrible ordeal,” MDCC Chair Dan Caruso said in a news release. “We may only be able to make a small impact, but we as a committee feel it is important to stand up and be counted.”

Saturday's drive will collect a variety of physical items for the Marlborough Community Cupboard, including personal hygiene products (including diapers and baby wipes), nonperishable foods, baking supplies, condiments and breakfast foods. Separately, organizers will collect cash and checks to donate to the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund, commonly known as UNICEF.
The event will happen rain or shine on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Navin Arena lower parking lot, 451 Bolton St.
