With so much hype around the new Top Gun Maverick movie, it is nice to know that our city as a real Top Gun. Captain Kevin “RIP” McCombs a graduate of Marlborough High School, has accumulated two Top Gun Air Force Awards in his Fighter Pilot career with the Air Force to date.
One was awarded as the Top Gun in his graduating F15C class, the more recent was awarded during his service on Okinawa with the 44th Fighter Squadron, Vampire Bats.
Kevin is now stationed at Eglin AFB in Destin, Florida with the American Beagles Fighter Training Squadron, and was awarded Flight Leader for the Quarter.
