Marlborough High Competed in State Science Fair
Marlborough joined 72 other schools in this year's State Science and Engineering Fair.
Marlborough High was well represented this year, joining 400 students from 73 schools across the Commonwealth at the Massachusetts State Science & Engineering Fair on May 1 and 2 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge.
This year marked the fair’s 66th year, competing for $500,000 in awards, scholarships and internships.

Ruth Schade, with her project “Piriformospora indica and Salt Resistance.”
Shayna Fine & Jeffrey Slocomb, with their project entitled “Preventing Concussions in Contact Sports Collisions.”

Kimberly Konar, Amanda Cameron and Samantha Merrill, with their project entitled “Food or Fuel.”
Schade received second place and the 2015 Secondary School Administrators Award of $500, said the announcement. Fine and Slocomb received an honorable mention. All three of the projects will be displayed in the display case outside the MHS Science Wing for the rest of the school year.
