Marlborough High Valedictorian's Paper Published in Concord Review

And that's a big deal.

The Concord Review says on its website, that it is “the only quarterly journal in the world to publish the academic work of secondary students” and only publishes about 5 percent of submissions. Its got subscribers in 44 states and 36 countries.

In other words, it’s no piece of cake to get published in the Concord Review. In fact, if you used the words “piece of cake,” you would probably be rejected by the Concord Review.

But Nicholas Dell Isola, Marlborough High School Class of 2014 valedictorian, has had his paper “Symptoms of Unrest: The Causes of Rome’s Civil War in 44BCE” accepted for publication by the publication.

Dell Isola originally wrote the essay during his senior year as part of an independent study course.
