Marlborough Hospital Gets Thrive 'Standing Ovation Award'
Marlborough nonprofit Thrive Support & Advocacy gave the award for the hospital's work during the pandemic.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Thrive Support & Advocacy, a nonprofit empowering youth and adults with developmental disabilities, today announced that this year’s Standing Ovation Award has been presented to UMass Memorial's Marlborough Hospital, a longtime community partner.
The Standing Ovation Awards are a celebratory initiative created to recognize outstanding and supportive stakeholders. Marlborough Hospital is being recognized for working collaboratively with the Thrive community since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Thrive community has no shortage of generous and caring employees, donors, families and stakeholders,” said Sean M. Rose, President & CEO of Thrive Support & Advocacy. “Marlborough Hospital represents the best of our community, and we are grateful for its commitment to Thrive and the individuals and families we serve. The entire team there deserves recognition with this year’s Standing Ovation Award.”
Marlborough Hospital has been a life-saving community resource for more than a century, and the nonprofit, community hospital has supported Thrive with specialized care for the agency’s clients over many years. The work of its staff during the pandemic has kept countless Thrivers safe and healthy.

Thanks to the leadership and advocacy of Marlborough Hospital President Steve Roach, Marlborough Hospital Vice President Ellen Carlucci, who oversees community outreach, UMass Memorial Medical Group President Dr. Shlomit Schaal, and UMass Memorial Health President & CEO Dr. Eric Dickson, Marlborough Hospital provided critical COVID-19 services and supports to Thrive, including testing, vaccination, care and oversight.
“All of us at UMass Memorial Health are so proud of the incredible achievements our Marlborough Hospital teams have accomplished since the pandemic began,” said Dickson. “Being honored with the Standing Ovation award demonstrates their commitment to serving their community, even during extreme adversity. The thoughtful leadership of Ellen Carlucci, Steve Roach and Shlomit Schaal is an example to all of us of what true dedication really means.”
