Marlborough Little League joins 31st season of Jimmy Fund Little League
Annual fundraiser benefits patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
BOSTON – Marlborough Little Leaguers are stepping up to the plate in the fight against cancer. Assabet Valley Little League has joined the 31st season of Jimmy Fund Little League, presented by Extra Innings and Franklin Sports.
Jimmy Fund Little League provides thousands of New England Little League players the opportunity to continue playing baseball and softball after the regular season ends by participating in local tournaments and fundraising efforts, including canister collection, carwashes and more. These remarkable boys and girls play to support the lifesaving mission of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund.

“Each summer young baseball and softball players from across New England take a swing at cancer by participating in Jimmy Fund Little League,” said Larry Lucchino, chairman of the Jimmy Fund. “We at the Jimmy Fund thank these inspiring youth athletes who rally their communities playing the game they love to raise money for patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.”

Last summer, more than 5,000 children throughout New England participated in this fundraiser that raised more than $260,000. Since its inception in 1987, Jimmy Fund Little League has raised more than $4.8 million for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
