Marlborough Man Charged With Rape, Child Porn

The man was arraigned last week in Middlesex Court.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Marlborough man was arraigned in Middlesex District Court last week on charges that include rape of a child and possession of child pornography. Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said the man, 62-year-old Philip Raymond, knew the young girl he assaulted.

According to the DA's office, the victim was interviewed by authorities in 2018 and said she had been sexually assaulted by Raymond multiple times over the course of four years. The DA's office said the assaults started in June of 2003 when the victim was eight-years-old until she was 12, in varying locations including in the victim's home and Raymond's car. The victim also told investigators that Raymond would take nude pictures of her and showed her child porn that he had encrypted on his computer.

Marlborough police got a search warrant baed on the victims claims and found over 100 images of child pornography as well as a browser history of searches related to child pornography.
