Marlborough Offers Senior Center As Cooling Area In Heat Wave
Temperatures soared into the 90s on Tuesday — with even higher temperatures coming later in the week.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough will keep the senior center open late this week during a heat wave that will push temperatures into the 90s for several days.
The air-conditioned senior center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday for anyone who needs to cool down, Marlborough Mayor Arthur Vigeant's office said in a news release.
A heat advisory will be in effect Wednesday in an area including Marlborough. It'll feel like close to 100 degrees nearby, according to the heat index.

The city is also reminding residents of several other cooling options available this week:
- Memorial Beach, open seven days from 11 a.m to 6:45 p.m. Residents just need an ID to show proof of residency.
- Splash pads at Ghiloni and Stevens parks are open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Sunday.
- The Farrell and Ward Park wading pools are both open daily from noon to 5:45 p.m.
- The Hixon Boat Launch is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 2 to 8 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The launch is for Marlborough and Hudson residents only.
