Marlborough Opens Memorial Beach, Splash Pads For 2022 Season

The city's main swimming beach will be open through Labor Day weekend, and city wading pools will come online later in June.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Swimming season has arrived in Marlborough.

Marlborough Recreation on Monday opened World War II Memorial Beach along Causeway Street for the 2022 season, offering residents a fresh water swimming option. The city on Saturday also opened the Ghiloni and Stevens Park splash pads for the 2022 season.

Memorial Beach will be open for swimming between 11 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. daily. Non-residents can use the beach, but must pay a $20 parking fee. The beach will close on Aug. 29, but will reopen for Labor Day between 11:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. over the three-day weekend.

The Farrell Wading Pool at the Hildreth School, 85 Sawin St., and the Ward Park wading pool, 57 Orchard St., will both open for the season on June 22, according to Marlborough Recreation.

Memorial Beach is located close to Centennial Beach in Hudson, which opened for the season on June 6.
