Marlborough Police Say Level 3 Sex Offender Moving To City
A woman convicted of raping a 2-year-old is moving from Cape Cod to Marlborough, police said.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough police say that a level 3 sex offender is relocating to the city from Cape Cod. The woman is not wanted by police, but the department is required to make a notification under state law.
Carolyn Pierce, 38, until recently was living in the Barnstable area. She was convicted in 2010 on charges of rape of a child with force and indecent assault and battery on a child under age 14. According to reports, Pierce touched a 2-year-old girl she babysat in a sexual manner on multiple occasions.
Pierce was sentenced to eight years in a state prison, plus 15 years of probation. Pierce was re-arrested in January after using a counterfeit $100 bill at a store in Barnstable, according to reports.

Level 3 sex offenders are considered to be at highest risk of re-offending, according to state law. There are currently eight other level 3 sex offenders living in Marlborough, according to the state registry. There are 10 more level 2 sex offenders.
