Marlborough Reports 9th Coronavirus Death
The city's latest death was reported on Sunday, with total coronavirus cases now near 400.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough recorded its ninth coronavirus fatality on Sunday, the first new death in the city reported since April 23.
As of Monday evening, the total number of Marlborough residents who have tested positive for the virus reached 388. With the nine deaths and 190 people who have recovered, there are now 189 active coronavirus cases in the city.
According to health department data, six of the nine deaths have been men. The average age of the nine people who have died is 81: seven victims have been over the age of 70, and two have been in their fifties.

Still, almost half of all coronavirus cases in Marlborough are in people under the age of 50, and the age group with the most confirmed cases is people age 30 to 39:
- Under age 20 — 16 cases
- Age 20 to 29 — 59 cases
- Age 30 to 39 — 82 cases
- Age 40 to 49 — 65 cases
- Age 50 to 59 — 69 cases
- Age 60 to 69 — 43 cases
- Age 70 to 89 — 41 cases
- Age 90 and up — 13 cases

Marlborough began spring curbside yard waste collection on Monday. Collections will happen through April 8 for all yard waste, except grass clippings. The city's drop off locations are now closed. Contact the Department of Public Works with questions at dpw@marlborough-ma.gov or 508-624-6910.
The Marlborough Community Cupboard food pantry, 255 Main St., is open to all local residents who need food assistance. You can also donate to the food pantry through the United Way of Tri-County.
