Marlborough Resident is $10 Millon Man

A scratch ticket purchased at Wegman's in Northborough means an instant windfall for a local resident.

Yu Zhou of Marlborough won $10 million on an instant scratch-off ticket, the Massachusetts Lottery said.

The lottery said Zhou bought the Mega Cash instant game ticket at Wegman's in Northborough. He came forward to claim the prize last week.

Zhou selected the cash option on the prize and received a one-time lump sum payment of $6,5 million before taxes. He told the lottery he plans to split the prize with his brother, who is applying to medical school and will use his share for the tuition. Zhou also thinks he’d like to buy a car with his winnings, the lottery said in a statement.
