Marlborough Schools Named 'District of Distinction'
And, 'the results are clear.' Marlborough Public Schools were named 'distinct' in this prestigious magazine.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough Public Schools are a "District of Distinction," literally and officially.
District Administration magazine, a national magazine for school district administrators, recently named the district one of distinction, featuring it in the magazine as “STEM Early College High School: Transforming Education.”
"Our thanks goes out to all of our faculty and staff for making Marlborough Public Schools worthy of such a significant recognition," said Communications Liaison Beth Wagner, "and especially to our STEM teams for their vision and efforts to transform education to benefit our students, families and community.

District Administration said that while building a STEM program in a New England district seemed at first to be difficult, "the job market was ripe for the program. The Marlborough area has the second largest concentration of health care jobs in Massachusetts and is home to 30 percent of the state’s technology jobs."
Marlborough got a Race to the Top grant to create the STEM Early College High School in 2010. The district then got a federal Labor Youth CareerConnect grant in 2014, which allowed it to expand it to all high school students.
