Marlborough Sees 3 New Coronavirus Deaths Over Weekend
There are now over 500 people in Marlborough who have tested positive for coronavirus, according to health officials.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough has seen eight new coronavirus deaths over the last week — including three that have occurred since Friday.
Over the course of the pandemic, 533 Marlborough residents have tested positive for coronavirus, and 17 city residents have died. Subtracting deaths and recoveries, there were 242 active cases in the city as of Sunday. The number of active cases did decline from the Saturday total of 247.
The 17 deaths have all occurred in people over the age of 50, and 10 of the deaths have been in people over age 70, according to the health department.

Meanwhile, cases are spread out among age groups. Three-hundred of the city's total number of coronavirus cases are in people under age 49. People age 30 to 39 make up the biggest group at 116.
Over the weekend, Marlborough officials reminded residents about a statewide order on face coverings that goes into effect on May 6. Anyone over age 2 who is out in public will be required to wear one.
