Marlborough Traffic Stops Rise In July As Police Log More Than 3K Calls

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough police activity remained nearly level in July, though officers conducted hundreds more motor vehicle stops than in June.

The department logged 3,179 total incidents and calls in July, up 11 from June. Police made 52 arrests, received 1,848 calls to 911 and conducted 1,139 motor vehicle stops.

Motor vehicle stops rose by 315 from the 824 reported in June. Arrests fell from 63 to 52, and 911 calls declined from 1,886 to 1,848, according to June police statistics.

Police responded to 94 accidents in July, down from 129 in June. The department also recorded 265 medical calls, 111 well-being checks, 89 alarms and 81 disturbances.

Other July activity included 41 domestic disputes, 36 animal complaints, 21 larceny or shoplifting reports and 20 threats or assaults. Officers also served four arrest warrants.

Mental health clinicians had 43 interactions during July, down from 50 in June.
