Marlborough's 2022 Labor Day Parade Will Feature New Attractions
Favorites of Marlborough's annual parade will be back in 2022, and there will be some new attractions too.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Planning is underway for Marlborough's 20222 Labor Day parade — the 70th annual parade in city history, and one of the largest in New England.
Marlborough Mayor Arthur Vigeant this week announced that resident Matthew Sargent — a Marlborough Historical Society trustee and Navy reservist — will serve as the parade's grand marshal.
Sargent earned the role after undertaking recent projects to honor local veterans, including cleaning and mapping their graves.

"Sargent is a unique individual who has and continues to dedicate countless hours to preserving our veterans’ headstones and making sure the lost are not forgotten. He also was responsible for contacting 38 families who were honored to participate in our recent, well attended, Medal of Liberty Ceremony. A few came from as far away as Florida and Tennessee," Vigeant said in a news release.
Attendees can also expect the return of parade favorites like the Shriners, the UMass Lowell Marching Band and local musicians like Flashback, Missy Maxfield and the New Liberty Jazz Band.
