Marlborough's Assabet High School Gets $281K Grant
The skills capital grant is specifically for the culinary arts program.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Culinary students in Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School will have some more funds for the program. The Baker-Polito Administration gave the school a $281,000 Skills Capital Grant.
The grant money is specifically for the culinary arts program and can be used to modernize equipment to help prepare students for careers in the food service industry. Assabet has received $1.7 million in grant funding to date.
The first grant was for $213,000 to purchase and construct the greenhouse to support curriculum development, lab experiments and project based learning opportunities for biotechnology, culinary arts and science departments. In June 2017, Assabet received a second grant award of $244,510 also in support of the greenhouse.

The Skills Capital Grants is intended to help high schools, colleges and other workforce training organizations to invest in the most up-to-date equipment to give their students an advantage when they continue in their chosen field or area of study.
