Marlborough's First Recreational Pot Shop Opens Without A Hitch
Garden Remedies saw a steady flow of customers all day; it became the 17th retail marijuana shop in Massachusetts.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — The wait for Marlborough's first recreational marijuana dispensary is over. Garden Remedies opened on Sunday to a line of excited customers. Located at 416 Boston Post Road East, the dispensary sits in Marlborough Square in one of the city's two designated medical and retail marijuana districts.
Garden Remedies received final approval to start retail operations from the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission. The dispensary decided to hit the ground running by accepting walk-ins on the first day. A dispensary spokesperson said while there was a steady stream of customers, no one had to wait in line too long and everyone was served quickly.
Marlborough police had one detail officer at the opening and will continue to have a detail officer on duty during the dispensary's business hours. Marlborough police spokesperson Sgt. Daniel Campbell said the grand opening was calm, with no incidents and not even a little bit of traffic backup.

"It was really pretty mellow," Campbell said.
Unlike some other recreational dispensaries in the state (Brookline's NETA, Leicester's Cultivate) Garden Remedies has an onsite parking lot. A police detail officer directed traffic in and out of the 200-space parking lot located next to the dispensary.
