Masked Robber Hits Marlborough Bank

The robbery happened late in the afternoon on Friday, according to Marlborough police.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A person wearing a mask robbed a Marlborough bank on Friday evening, according to police. The incident happened at the Avidia Bank along Maple Street.

According to police, the suspect entered the bank around 5:30 p.m. and demanded money without showing a weapon. He fled the scene before officers arrived. Police did not immediately have a description of the suspect available.

The Avidia robbery was the second in Marlborough last week. A woman walked into the Boston Post Road Honey Dew Donuts at around 4 p.m. on Dec. 23 and demanded cash. She fled the coffee shop after an altercation with employees, but she did not get any money, police said.
