MATT ELDER RECEIVES KEY ENDORSEMENT FROM TAXPAYER WATCHDOG GROUP

MARLBOROUGH- Today, State Representative candidate Matt Elder has announced that he has received the endorsement of the Citizen’s for Limited Taxation Proposition 2 ½ PAC, showing he is the only candidate in his race that is a true friend of the taxpayer.

Elder is running against Rep. Danielle Gregoire (D-Marlborough) who has come under heavy fire recently for lying on her campaign literature about her stance on tax increases.

“With the endorsement of CLT 2 ½ PAC, the lines have clearly been drawn showing who in this election will fight for lower taxes and support responsible spending,” Elder said. “I look forward to working with CLT and other non-partisan groups to make the best decisions for the families and business in the district.”

As a Marlborough City Councilor the past 5 years, Elder has said he has always fought for lower taxes and a more responsible approach to spending. He said that he will continue this approach when elected to State Representative.

Elder also said he has signed the “No New Taxes Pledge” and when elected he will take a hard look at the waste, fraud and abuse at the state level.

“Last year the state was up almost $600M in revenue, and thanks to my opponent, we still raised taxes by $500M,” Elder said. “Where was the $1 billion disconnect?”

Matt Elder is a husband, father, small business owner and candidate for State Representative in the Fourth Middlesex District. He is currently serving his third term on the Marlborough City Council.
