More Snow for Marlborough: Up to Foot Possible

The area is prepping for another snow pounding.

MARLBOROUGH, MA - Snow will be pounding most of Massachusetts, including Westborough, all day Monday and into the night, the first of three consecutive days where the state could see separate storms.

Here’s Monday’s weather in Marlborough, according to the National Weather Service:

  • Monday: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 26. North wind 6 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.
  • Monday Night: Snow likely, mainly before 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 18. North wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Just two days after an unexpected system dumped up to a foot of snow, downed trees and power lines, and left tens of thousands without electricity, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency said Sunday morning to expect more of the same.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather watch for much of the state that will be in effect from Monday morning into Tuesday morning.

Monday snowfall totals aren’t yet certain and are still very dependent on which way the storm shifts, but 4 to 7 inches is expected in the Boston area while Southeastern Mass. and the Cape once again will bear the brunt, expecting up to 10 inches. Snow could start in the morning and continue into the night, ending around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

The National Weather Service currently says there is at least a chance of snow showers every day from Monday to Thursday, but it’s too far out to estimate totals.
