The Most Dangerous Cities to Live in Massachusetts: Study

MASSACHUSETTS—It's not meant to "name and shame," says the study, but OnlyInYourState on Tuesday released its ten most dangerous cities in which to live list.

OnlyInYourState considered the most recent F.B.I. crime report and Home Security Shield's crime data to create a Top-10 list of the most dangerous cities in Massachusetts. To be considered, only cities with a population greater than 5,000 were in the mix, and ranked in order of the violent crime rate. The study also includes the likelihood of becoming a victim of a crime, and property crime statistics.

Here's the list, according to OnlyInYourState:

1. Chelsea
2. Brockton
3. New Bedford
4. Fall River
5. Springfield
6. Lawrence
7. Worcester
8. Holyoke
9. Boston
10. Lynn
