New Marlborough Cannabis Store Opens On Boston Post Road
Local Roots will sell cannabis grown at facilities in Framingham and Barre.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough's second recreational cannabis dispensary is opening to the public Thursday along the Boston Post Road near the Sudbury line.
The 2,650 square-foot Marlborough store opening Thursday will be the third in Massachusetts for Local Roots, which operates dispensaries in Fitchburg and Sturbridge. The company grows its cannabis at facilities in Framingham and Barre.
Local Roots first proposed the new store in June 2020 with backing from Marlborough-based Keystone Development Corporation co-founders Michael Staiti and Rick Olstein. The chain was founded in 2016 by Dean Iandoli and Catherine Trifilo. The state Cannabis Control Commission granted Local Roots its final license in September.
